I guess it’s fair to say we were all blindsided by the pandemic that still has the world in its evil claws. Many families went from being ‘comfortable’ to being on the edge financially. Even worse still, a lot of people who were already surviving on a knife edge were pushed over the edge into financial oblivion.
Maybe you’re reading this and you know too well the pain of losing your job/business, going without a meal, sleeping in layers just to ration your utilities, using a food bank or literally going to the shop with a calculator in your hand as you paced up and down shopping aisles looking for the best deal to feed yourself or your family. I salute you for your bravery and I thank God with you.
“I have been young and now am old, yet have I not seen the [uncompromisingly] righteous forsaken or their seed begging bread.” Psalm 37:25
Even for those who managed to keep their jobs, I’m very sure that like me, you experienced moments where anxiety and insecurity cast a terrible shadow over your life. I started a new job in April and I was quite nervous about keeping the job. Surely the newbie on probation was prime candidate for the firing squad right?
But through it all, we made it. It wasn’t pretty, it sure hasn’t been easy but God made a way and supplied all our needs (not wants, needs) according to His riches in glory.
Truly He has been faithful!
Prayer of Thanksgiving
Father, thank you for the miracle of divine provision I have enjoyed this year. Thank you for making a way and supplying my needs even in the midst of global famine.
