Day 12: Thank God for Opportunities to Serve

Yesterday, we expressed our gratitude for frontline workers who have put themselves in harm’s way to keep us safe in 2020. Today, we’re going to thank God for the many opportunities He has given us to serve others this year.

I’m thinking of the mothers and fathers who work night and day to make sure there’s a roof over their children’s heads.

I’m thinking of pastors who have faithfully kept preaching the Word to an empty auditorium and checking up on their members even while going through their own storms.

I’m thinking of charity workers stocking food banks, call centre operatives patiently helping people sort out their bills/finances.

I’m thinking of neighbours who checked up on their elderly neighbours and dropped off food parcels or a kind note for a friend during lockdown.

We usually tend to think of our jobs, taking care of our families as responsibilities (and rightly so). But today, I want you to see these things as not just responsibilities but as opportunities to serve others and make their journey through life just a little bit easier.

Starting my blog earlier this year has been a major task but I love it and I’m thankful for the opportunity to serve and pour out into others. Service is a privilege I’m ever grateful for and so should you.

Prayer of Thanksgiving

Father, thank You for the privilege of partnering with you in serving others in 2020. Thank You for the opportunities you have given me to minister to others and to pour out into them.
