See what you just did there? You made it to the end of November! 30 solid days of breathing, moving, sleeping, waking and most importantly, praising! Feel free to park at this sentence and burst out in worship because I tell you, thousands stopped breathing at some point over the last 30 days.
Wiggle your toes, flex your fingers and blink your eyes and feel the life roaring through your veins. You are still here!
On this last day of #30daysofthanksgiving, I want you to thank God in anticipation of the future He has in store for you in 2020 and beyond. I want to finish this series of thanksgiving with deep excitement and anticipation for the days ahead.
Thinking about the future can be a fearful thing as we try to strategise and game out different scenarios and anticipate our reactions. However, as Christians, we can overcome the fear of the unknown future with God’s promise to God ahead of us and make all crooked paths straight.
Yes, there’ll be work to do, some sleepless nights, some lessons to learn and sacrifices to make but through it all, God will be us.
So, thank God because of His promise that ‘my presence will go with you and I will give you rest’ (Exodus 33:14). He’s also assuring you right now that His plans for you are “to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV).
There’s nothing to fear, the Greater One lives in you.
Prayer of Thanksgiving
Father, I thank You in anticipation of the great future You have for me. For the rest of 2020 and beyond, I hold on to the promise that Your plans for me are good, to give me a hope and a bright future.
P.S. Thank you so much for hanging with me over the last 30 days. I’m now off to give my fingers a well-deserved rest 🙂 . I hope you have enjoyed counting your blessings and I pray that you’ll experience more reasons to thank God in the last 31 days of the year.
