Day 7: Thank God for His Protection

Between March 2020 and today, at least 1.23 million people have lost their lives to the deadly Coronavirus. That’s 1.23 million hearts that stopped beating. 1.23 million families left groping in the dark with intense grief.

Lest we forget, millions of people have still lost their lives this year in ways unrelated to the pandemic. My family and I tasted grief in a new way this year and to be honest, it wasn’t pleasant at all. Even though a part of us knew that the death of a believer was a transition to a pain-free, glorious life we still didn’t like it. We had our questions, we had our ‘if only’ moments and we still do.

“I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely He shall deliver thee from the…noisome pestilence” Psalm 91:2,3

The alarming rate with which people are dying every day is a perfect opportunity for you and I to pause and express our gratitude to God for preserving us.

Your life may not be what you want it to be but today is not the day to complain. That you are alive is a sure sign of God’s faithfulness and I believe He must preserving you and me because we are worth it.

Prayer of Thanksgiving

Father, thank You for hiding me under the shadow of Your wings in the midst of a global pandemic. I acknowledge that You have been a refuge for me in 2020.
