Day 23: Thank God for Hope

As you head into the start of a new working week, I want you to have it at the back of your mind that no matter how bad your circumstances may be, no matter how vicious the storm you or your loved ones are caught up in right now, there’s always hope.

Hope is not a feeling but a deep-seated knowing that even though we don’t see the big picture right now, God is working everything out for our good.

There have been many days in 2020 when all my family and I had to hold on to was the hope that somehow the pain we were experiencing did not accidentally slip through God’s fingers and that He always has a good plan for us.

If we’re sincere, many of us would have drowned in the sea of depression in 2020 if we had not believed, like David, that we would see the goodness of God in the land of the living (Psalm 27:13-14).

Rich or poor, black or white, commoner or royalty, truth is we all need hope. Life is not worth living, in fact, I daresay life is impossible without hope.

Today, thank God for His sustaining hope and hold on to your unwavering hope in God that something good will happen to you, that beauty will come out of your ashes.

Prayer of Thanksgiving

Father, I am grateful that despite the many losses I have endured this year, I haven’t lost my hope. I trust wholeheartedly that You are working EVERYTHING for my good.
